Emcws stands for Emacs + Canna + Wnn + Sj3 ( See also info in Japanese: What is Emcws).

pkgsrc

If you are running NetBSD and be familiar with pkgsrc, just try following to build emcws.

Please note that: this is just an unofficial version of pkgsrc/editors directory.

cd /usr/pkgsrc/editors
cvs -d :pserver:anoncvs@cvs.ki.nu:/cvs login
   (Logging in to anoncvs@cvs.ki.nu)
   CVS password:     (password is empty, just hit <Return> here)
   cvs -d :pserver:anoncvs@cvs.ki.nu:/cvs co -d emcws personal-pkgsrc/emcws
cd emcws
make
make install

Then you will get the binary emcws installed on your /usr/pkg/bin/emcws. This will co-reside with Emacs, of which actual name is emacs (Name of emcws is really emcws).

emcws-pretest

Or, replace 5th line above by

cvs -d :pserver:anoncvs@cvs.ki.nu:/cvs co -d emcws-pretest personal-pkgsrc/emcws-pretest

may give you the emcws with pretest version.
